The District Education Officer (DEO) of Buyende, Mr. Dison Bwiire, has issued a stern warning to private schools in the district that will fail to implement the new curriculum mandated by the government.
Speaking to reporters at his office, Mr. Bwiire emphasized the urgency of adopting the new curriculum, stating, “We cannot afford to compromise on the quality of education our students receive. It is imperative that all schools, both public and private, adhere to the guidelines set forth by the government.”
He further revealed that a team of inspectors has been deployed across the district to monitor compliance and report any instances of schools teaching the old syllabus. “We are taking this matter very seriously, and any school found deviating from the prescribed curriculum will face consequences,” Mr. Bwiire asserted.
The new curriculum, which has been introduced by the government, aims to modernize and enhance the quality of education in primary and secondary schools. It emphasizes a holistic approach to learning, focusing not only on academic subjects but also on the development of critical thinking and practical skills.
